In Spring of 2023, I wrote the following candidacy announcement for AMTA Arkansas Chapter members to consider me for the position of Board Member.

I am seeking the position of Board Member because I love Arkansas and I love massage therapists. Arkansas is in desperate need of a strong association to advocate on our behalf as we face multiple legislative changes. I have a fundamental belief that there are communities of therapists in the state that are underserved and deserve to be visited and heard from. I have met so many incredible therapists in my travels as a CE provider who have advanced their careers through personal determination alone.

I value a more inclusive and equitable profession. I am committed to help reenergize Arkansas' AMTA Chapter to better serve our local profession.

I am proud to say that I meet all the eligibility requirements for the position of Board Member. I also currently hold a Master Massage Therapists license and I am Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork through NCBTMB.

I stay updated on the Arkansas Department of Health and the Massage Therapy Technical Advisory Committee's meetings. I keep a daily pulse on the Arkansas Legislature and I create a lot of online massage content through my social media platforms to help pass knowledge along.

I have had the pleasure of teaching pre-licensed students at local massage schools as well as providing over 10 Continuing Education courses all across the state of Arkansas.

I am also a student of our regional history in the profession, the past will help guide our future and protect us from taking missteps.

I consider myself a thoughtful and effective communicator. Perhaps my greatest skills are organization and prioritizing tasks.

I thoughtfully chose AMTA due to their extensive history and their status of having local chapters. I have not yet had the opportunity to volunteer with AMTA, but I jumped at the opportunity to serve on MTTAC's Ad Hoc Committees during the summer and autumn of 2022. I was appointed to their licensure level ad hoc committee and I never missed a meeting.

This year, I have been engaging in grass root advocacy for the Interstate Massage Compact (IMpact) as an individual in the profession.
